The impact you will have in this role: Our operations team is seeking a senior-level DevSecOps engineer with a solid focus on security and a background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, specifically Terraform. You should have knowledge of HashiCorp Vault and be proficient in software development processes and lifecycle management. A deep understanding of automation tools to streamline operations and a solid background in managing Linux systems are crucial. You will mentor junior engineers on the team, play a pivotal role in designing system architecture, and participate in the day-to-day operations of the Vault platform. You will also manage sophisticated support situations, and work closely with product owners, technical product owners, and technical leaders from various teams to facilitate their secure integration with Vault following best practices.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and guide the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the Vault platform, adhering to agile methodologies
  • Create and maintain integration patterns for the Vault platform, serving as a reference for standard process patterns for peripheral platform and application teams
  • Lead the integration of these teams with Vault, ensuring they understand and adhere to the standards/patterns created by the Vault team for secure and automated operations
  • Mentor and guide team members in standard methodologies for DevOps, security, and usage of tools such as Vault
  • Play a pivotal role in designing and implementing service improvements, focusing on high availability, scalability, and resilience of the Vault platform
  • Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery procedures and plans
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and incorporate new technologies and approaches as the service ecosystem evolves

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform
  • 5-7 years of experience managing Linux environments
  • 3-5 years of software development experience in either Python, Go, or Rust
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle
  • 3+ years of experience working with system/service monitoring tools
  • Experience managing shared, multi-tenant platform services
  • Experience managing public cloud infrastructure and comfortable working with hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud, preferably AWS)
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Basic understanding of identity management systems like Okta or Active Directory
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, including experience leading teams and applying agile methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CI/CD, release, and lifecycle management of IaC across multiple environments
  • Strong security-focused demeanor with experience guiding teams through secure integration following best practices.
