Rust Job: Fixed Income Software Engineer

Be part of Tradeweb’s Platform Integration team responsible for the core services of the firm. The team develops and supports an integration framework to enable real-time trading flows by connecting many internal and external systems to Tradeweb APIs. The team manages on-premise and cloud-based deployments.

Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated integration solutions for mission-critical, high performance distributed trading systems.
• Interact with internal business stakeholders in order to translate customer requirements into technical implementations, building expertise in trading workflows.
• Work closely with business and technology teams to analyze and resolve production issues.
• Improve supportability of the service by adding logging, metrics, and alerts.
• Automate regression testing to maintain high quality while enabling fast turnaround on new features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Understanding of software engineering principles with 5 or more years programming experience and/or extensive systems engineering experience
• Strong development and software design experience, preferably within a financial institution or financial software organization with a focus on microservices architecture or API development
• Front office capital markets knowledge or experience with financial software or trading a plus

Programming Languages / Platforms

• JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
• Cloud/AWS experience
• Bash/Linux

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in other languages/platforms (Rust, Java, Groovy, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, etc.)
• Protocol knowledge: FIX, TCP/UDP, http/https/WebSocket, Protobuf/Flatbuffers, etc.
• DevOps Technologies (CI/CD tools around GitLab)
• Experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker, K8s, etc.)
• Experience with web service API generators (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Logging/metrics platforms experience a plus (ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, etc.)
• Integration experience around various data stores (Databases, Key/Value store, such as Redis)
• Experience in SQL
• Experience solving problems in an enterprise real-time distributed system.

• The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $100,000 to $250,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule.
