What you’ll be working on

The client is currently building a day-trading application (with an existing team of three developers), and needs additional developers to join the team. The high-level objective is to put the power of automated trading into the hands of day-traders who typically trade manually. The ideal full-stack developer should have experience in at least one of the following:

  • Building a trading application (for previous employers or clients)
  • Building trading algorithms
  • Actively trading the markets in any asset class (stocks, crypto, forex etc). Trading experience via API with brokerages such as Interactive Brokers, Alpaca, and Robinhood is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will work on a part time basis (10 - 20 hours per week), will be responsible for implementing various features in the application, and will have some degree of autonomy in the implementation approach. The candidate will also participate in twice-a-week meetings to provide updates and help guide the direction of the product from a technical perspective. The client is a customer-driven Product Manager by day, and is able to bring to bear his significant experience in developing digital products whilst placing emphasis on a respectful and optimal developer experience.

The product is expected to launch in February 2023, however, more features will be developed post launch and there exists the possibility of a long-term relationship depending on performance and fit.
