Ettingshall/Wolverhampton Sites
Rate – Starting at £11.00 per hour dependant on experience and training
Reporting to the Works Manager.
Overview- To work in teams at our Wolverhampton site and sometimes at our customers sites, packing goods into wooden packing cases to minimise deterioration and or damage in storage or transportation overseas. Loading & Unloading Shipping containers with forklifts and/or overhead cranes.

- Do you have a full UK Driving Licence?
- Are you able to read and interpret written instructions (packing instructions/pick sheets/clients requirements, weights and sizes)?
- Can you work effectively with a team or independently?

The day to day duties will include
A. Carrying out packing operations in accordance with the packing requirements set out in the job brief.
B. Reads instructions and accurately interpret what is required.
C. Check that goods are as per suppliers PO and report any damage.
D. Determine and accurately record on job sheets, the overall weight and size of packed goods.
E. Check that goods are free from damage or rust etc.
F. Carry out the packing of goods ensuring security and safety from damage or deterioration.
G. Ensuring cases and pallets are securely constructed to company guidelines/standards and are fit for pur-pose.
H. Mark packing case with the correct shipping marks, safety and environmental details.
I. Record on completion of packing all materials used and time taken to complete.
J. Return on completion of packing, the job sheets and any documents or instructions to the production production office.
K. Ensuring the packing area is clean and safe for working at all times.
L. Remove packing scrap and rubbish from the packing area ensuring that scrap is kept to a minimum.
M. When working on customer site ensuring adherence to both customer policy and procedures, method statements, risk assessments and all relevant and related guidance for customer site work issued.

Person Specification:

• Export Packing & Container Loading experience
• Where possible Training licences in

o Nail and Staple Gun use
o Manual Handling
o Cross/Band and Circular Saw operations.
o Forklift and Crane Licences
Skills Accuracy with attention to detail, thorough, safety and quality aware, numerical and literate.

Other –

• The holding a Full UK Driving Licence as some jobs may need to be completed on client site.
• The holding of Forklift and Crane operating licences would also be advantageous
• Prepared to work away from home and undertake overtime as required
• Overtime available
• 37.5 hour week
