Rust Job: Staff Software Engineer, Fraud

The Fraud Prevention team at Discord builds solutions to prevent fraud and abuse at scale. We use industry standards and new techniques to combat adversarial bad actors that are always evolving, while also ensuring that we don't negatively affect good users. This team is brand new. This role is important in ensuring that we maintain and improve trust across the platform, especially as Discord continues to grow. You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager across the Integrity and Fraud squads. What you'll do Create a long term technical vision for the department, and identify paths to deliver value in shorter term phases Develop scalable and reliable services Make hands-on contributions to deliver important projects that bring value to users and our business Lead by example to uphold high engineering standards, and improve quality and engineering efficiency across Discord Collaborate with partners across the organization including teams across engineering, product, machine learning, design, infrastructure, and operations Mentor engineers in their technical careers to help them grow What you have 7+ years of experience building scalable backend or real-time data systems Experience working on, and deploying, large-scale systems in Python, Rust, Go, or other similar languages Experience working in undefined environments. You get excited about creating solutions to complex problems and implementing them.
