Rust Job Details

Hi there! We are Semrush, a global IT company developing our own product – a platform for digital marketers. And this is our QA Engineer role for those who want to turn ideas into reality using test scripts, automation, and maybe a little magic.

  • We use Golang and its standard “testing” package to cover the libraries and some of the services.

  • We perform testing with Kotlin and TestNG—for UI, we use Selenide, and for HTTP API, we use Retrofit.

Who we are looking for

  • 3+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer.

  • Experience developing or testing in one of the following languages: Golang, Java (Kotlin/Scala), C++, or Rust.

  • Good backend testing skills. Gray vs. White box testing experience.

  • Experience with databases—making SQL queries.

  • Experience with load testing. Tools such as Locust, Gatling, JMeter, K6, and/or experience writing similar tools independently.

  • Experience in UI E2E testing.

  • English proficiency at least at an intermediate level—you will communicate with yours and other teams and read documentation in English.

  • Willingness to learn, explore, and try something new.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but that might well be you, if

  • Experience with Selenium and Selenide.

  • TestNG or JUnit frameworks.

  • Continuous Integration Systems such as Gitlab CI, TeamCity, or Jenkins.

  • Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with testing various gRPC services.

  • Experience with various data transfer protocols—text, binary, streaming, etc.

  • Experience in creating a product testing ecosystem on your own.

A bit about the team

We have lots of challenging technical tasks here. By “here,” we mean on the Ninja team—the team responsible for a group of tools in the keyword research direction. In short, these are tools for keyword research—this is one of the most important areas of work for a modern internet marketer. We have the largest database of words and languages on the market, which we process and display to the user in a way that makes their workflow as fast and productive as possible.

We have ten people on our team—one Product Owner, three Backend Developers, three Frontend Developers, one DevOps Engineer, one UX Analyst, and a QA Engineer. There’re more and more tasks, so we are looking for a new colleague—another QA Engineer!
