Signavio is the leading cloud-based SaaS business transformation and process management company, founded 10 years ago, and based in Berlin. Our international expansion started in 2015 and now, we've opened offices in 10 locations worldwide. Signavio was acquired by SAP, a market leader in enterprise application software. SAP values the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering creativity and building lasting relationships with our employees. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce keeps us competitive and provides opportunities for all. By joining this team, you will work in a startup environment as part of an empowered product team, shaping new products and technology, that also has access to the assets of a global company.

As Backend Engineer for our San Francisco-based Product Intelligence team, you will work closely with the rest of the team to deliver high quality API implementations that delight the frontend engineers as they build a product that our customers love. Your responsibilities cover the entire development process from refining user stories, participating in scrum ceremonies, and naturally, writing, deploying, and testing code.

The backend services are written in Java, Kotlin, and Rust, but this role focused on developing a new Python-based backend service. While knowledge of the other languages will be helpful, the focus for this position is to build a REST/JSON-based Python Service, including API and database schema design.

In this role, you will join a cross-functional team that values trust, respect, and diversity.

We are looking for people who share our passion for creating products. To thrive in this role, you are someone who appreciates close collaboration, open communication, and feedback.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • Strong analytical thinker who is focused on problem solving

  • Challenging existing and defining new architectural standards with senior stakeholders
