Marko is a modern, open-source frontend framework deployed across hundreds of eBay web applications. We seek a passionate and talented JavaScript engineer to not only help us build out our framework and tooling, but to help us steer and influence the future of frontend eCommerce in general. Job Requirements

• Minimum 10 years industry experience
• Experienced in web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience with a modern frontend framework (Marko, Vue, React, etc)
• Experience with chipping in to Open Source
• Good understanding of CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures)
• Familiarity with JavaScript engines and web performance
• Familiarity with Abstract Syntax Trees, and transformations
• Self-motivated, with the ability to get things done
• Ability to work within a distributed team

Bonus Experience:

• Framework & component library development
• Experience with build tools & writing plugins for:
• Bundlers - Vite, ESBuild, Rollup, Webpack
• CI - Github Actions, Jenkins
• Testing - Mocha, Jest, Testing Library
• Authoring Experience - ESLint, Prettier, Language Servers
• Experience with technical writing
• Experience with Rust, Go, Zig

Job Responsibilities

• Develop performant and maintainable solutions
• Contribute to and maintain open source repositories
• Support teams in learning and using Marko
• Participate in architecture and code reviews
